They conceded massive amounts of territory

Now let's see how they're going to hold this territory.

Zaporizhzhia has to have a port, right? Can a ship make it from the Black Sea up there?

The naval element of this war hasn't been discussed much. Ukraine doesn't really have a navy to speak of- the Russians do. I'm not expecting like ship-to-ship combat, just the ability to move materials/men through the waterways is a massive advantage.

Mr. 0K, why do the Russians have such poor tank combat tactics? I've studied this for quite some time, and it seems to me that the Russians deploy tanks as if they're invincible. They don't abide by the typical "combined arms" doctrines very often, and it always leads to the same result: a few Russian tanks/armored vehicles get ambushed with rockets, and the crew is killed as they try to exit the wreck with small arms fire. Battle of Grozny has a fantastic example of this, where Chechen fighters were able to destroy like 112 of 120 tanks in just one regiment using RPGs, mostly.

The average Russian conscript doesn't impress me in how they seem to be trained and equipped. I don't expect conscripts to be really motivated when they're sent into what they view as foreign territory to fight an enemy who will absolutely torture them to death if they are captured. But on the other hand, those Alpha group guys... they're pretty fucking scary. The Ukrainians seem to agree with this notion, as pretty much every time an Alpha group unit shows up, the Ukrainians fucking bail. Usually, they're gone before the Alpha guys show up- likely they were tipped off somehow.

I've watched a shitload of combat footage from this war. The major pattern, big picture: Ukrainians are using foreign weaponry to ambush Russian conscript units, whom they then capture, torture, and murder. Alpha group unit is on the way to reinforce, arrive to find no resistance except for some booby traps. And those fucking "Dart" bombs. FUCK THOSE THINGS. There are hundreds of videos of drones dropping these things on unsuspecting Russian soldiers. Even a video of one being dropped on a Russian soldier while he's squatting down to take a shit. What a terror weapon- you can't see it, won't hear it, and when it hits you won't have a clue what did it to you.

Oh, and if you're into combat footage, I suggest you check out the video of the Ukrainian soldier who wouldn't leave behind his wounded friend. It's pretty brutal to watch, I won't spoil what happens, but even though I don't support the Ukrainian government, I have a lot of respect for brave, loyal warriors, even if they're my enemy.

Well I've seen more challenging situations https://pic8.co/sh/FiT8ut.jpeg https://pic8.co/sh/MHR8Va.png why do you ask?

Also where are the russian footages? Why is it so hard to find the "for 1 russian killed 5 ukrainians killed" article? It's like it never existed...

Go to a website called watchpeopledie. The community sucks- it's basically a bunch of reddit fags who are into gore. But the content is there, and it's good. It's a good website, well categorized and curated and even archived.

There's a category for "combat", and the vast majority of videos being uploaded there are from the current Russia vs. Ukraine conflict. Footage from both sides. Comments are cancer, but you don't have to read them.

The combat footage is valuable learning material. For all the training you can do, actually seeing how a firefight plays out from a literal bird's eye view (via drone in high def) can teach you a lot. You can notice patterns in how soldiers behave in combat and shit like that. You can see how panic manifests in younger, less experienced men and compare that directly to the older, more experienced men. There are many firefights caught on film by civilians, fighting in trenches and shit. One of the best I saw, was a civilian drone filming a Russian infantry unit ambushing Ukies on a highway. It's amazing to see how the fight plays out as the men exchange rifle fire and grenades from like 40 feet away from each other.

I've never heard that 1:5 kill ratio stat, that does seem bizarre for an attacking force to have that big of a difference in casualties. If anything, I'd expect it to be about even, or slightly skewed towards the Russians.

I doubt this'll be a problem for you, but uh... gore warning, I guess if you go to that website. It's easy to go down a rabbit hole and discover you've just spent the last 2 hours watching cartels dismember people alive or w/e. There's some REALLY fucked up videos of Ukies committing horrific war crimes- worst I watched was them castrating a Russian PoW, laughing at him as he squirms in agony for a minute or two, before finally shooting him. The amount of effort it took for them to fucking castrate that poor bastard was absurd, I wonder if that made them feel manly? As I said above, there's lots of footage of Ukies torturing Russian prisoners, but very, very few videos of Russians doing the same to Ukie prisoners. And I've looked for them. If they existed, western media would never fucking shut up about it, and would present it as justification for more nations entering the war to stop the Russians from brutalizing their prisoners.

Fucking clown world war is something else, isn't it? Very different from the conflicts I participated in.
