This is the path that the U.S. is now going down, in one of the most catastrophically stupid policy decisions in history.
Is the American public preparing for this or are they going to be reactive instead of proactive?
We need to use more energy, not less. A few points people really need to understand:
The higher the energy use per individual, the better the standard of living.
Energy supplies are limitless. There is no danger of running out of energy, ever.
Energy use, in itself, causes no harm to the environment.
Energy use is not somehow "evil" or "bad" -- it has no moral component.
Garbage is being pushed about redirecting water from the midwest to fill already failing reservoirs in the west.
That should give you your answer.
