i'm australian. if i became the hitler of australia the jews would either economically destroy my country whilst using the depreciating conditions to rile the people up against me, or create a war narrative. we would never break free. getting nukes massively helps stifle option b, but then they just work overtime on option a. very few countries can be both modern and self-reliant.. australia probably is one of the few, but it gets harder each year as rare metals and materials become necessary to maintain technological advancements, with many of these things only found in rare places around the world. becoming a hermit village state just guarantees you will be conquered in some future period.
