Good. I'm glad to see drivers actually followed through with it. You usually can't get two drivers to agree on where to stop for coffee. I never thought we'd get to see this happen again.

Lol exactly. But it's not just them. There has been chatter on the CB about shutting down for something or another at least twice a year since I started driving. It never happens.
I'm about 90% positive this only gained traction because it actually had a bit of news coverage and it took off on social media.
I never had any interest in going to Canada in the first place. Canada, California, and New York (really northeast in general) gets a hard no from me. My company stopped the Canada loads at the beginning of this mess because of their horseshit anyway.
Edit: Also one of our drivers went to jail at the border because he had his medications in one of those M-F tackle boxes instead of the original bottle. It was a mess to get him out.
Canada has always been a blue collar nation. Its resources demand it. Considering our Doctors are state sponsored it is no surprise only a few abandoned that narrative. Blue collar boys, working long hours for generally shit pay to support their families. That's poking a hibernating bear... only a matter of time.
It's the first time in nearly 200 years that the people are rising up against the govt. Even back then it could barely be consider a rebellion. It was Ontario an Quebec being dicks (as always) but now, with this kind of scale, It is going off.
Some people may be a bit slow out of the starting blocks but with this passing week, my hope has been renewed (Even the hutterites are getting in in the action). Kitchens of families are making bag lunches for the truckers as they pass through. Offering couches and spare beds for truckers to crash. Free vehicle servicing and roadside assistance.
For every trucker and his family, there is at least one or two families that have helped them along the way. Now the convoy's zello page is saying that there are about 60k US trucks heading north to Ottawa as well. A projected surge of almost one and a half million people to hit the city by months end. Unreal.
Canadains are stubborn mother fuckers. We have to be. Who the fuck, in their right mind, would stay more than one winter? That's why I believe this has some staying power.
I do hope you reconsider visiting when this shit show ends... And If you do decide to see the west coast, Shoot me a message. First pint is on me!
