Honestly it sounds much worse than it is. It will be so diluted by the time they start pumping it probably won't have any effect. One million gallons is really a drop in the bucket compared to the 352,670,000,000,000,000,000 (approximately) gallons of water in the ocean. It still looks bad tho.

Yeah I believe it was tritium too which is somewhat naturally occurring.

Tritium typically has a half-life of about 10 or so years.
