The sanctions are not only against Russia, they hit Europe much harder. For example, Europe needs Nordstream II to lower its heating costs, but the US wants to sell liquid gas instead - for a much higher price. Now, with Biden, there will be not much liquid gas to sell, raising the price even higher.
