Of course not, I’m not an idiot,” says Liu Yongli, a chauffeur in Beijing, when asked whether he has ever paid personal income tax. Despite earning well above the tax-free threshold, Mr Liu (not his real name) breezily explains that he has never faced any consequences for tax-dodging.
That happened.
Cavalier views like his may help explain why personal income tax accounted for only 8% of total tax revenue in China last year, "compared with an average of 24% in the oecd, a group of rich countries". But China has run a budget deficit in 21 of the past 22 years. Last year the deficit breached the government’s self-imposed cap of 3% of gdp. Public debt stands at around 50% of gdp.
That "article" doesn't even come with a link to back up their made up claims.
Sure, the clown who posts Breitbart and various unsourced retarded propaganda pictures doesn't trust The Economist...
At first read I can't see a source link either - so don't believe it, or write to them and ask. There's a good chance the source is Chinese... you can read Chinese can't you?
The economist pulled these numbers out of their kosher asses.
There's no official links to backup their claims and the "article" is not even signed.
I'm not surprised only someone like you would consider that legit. 😂
