You know a really good way to piss off your employees? Requiring people that could work remote to be in office while you let other entire teams work remote. It's bad for moral too.

From the post:

>Microsoft Corp. will exempt many sales roles from its coming return-to-office mandate, offering a more flexible approach than many of its tech industry peers. For some client and partner-facing roles, “we recognize that the nature of work differs from other parts of Microsoft,” human resources executive Theresa McHenry wrote this week in a memo to employees that was reviewed by Bloomberg. The carveout includes roles such as commercial sales and solution engineering.

If they made those sales people stay in the office, how else could they meet with decision makers in companies, wine them, dine them and promise them kickbacks to sign on and exclusively use their software? They certainly wouldn't want those communications happening over emails where they can be easily leaked.
