You know, something that always pissed me off is when I was much younger I was far more qualified and knew far much more than most of those I worked with related to my field. I was treated like a idiot because "I was too young to know that" or other such bullshit.

I have always and still do have "imposter syndrome" but I don't let it get me down. I take every possible opportunity to share knowledge and teach anyone that is interested when they ask. I spend what little spare time I have learning more and doing more with my own homelab when I am not spending time growing things.

Much of the being "treated like I didn't know what I was doing" was because I grew up in the middle of nowhere and how could some small city/country kid know shit? Well, most of my friends came from the same background and are the types that would be your team lead, startup owner, boss, etc now. Stop underestimating someone because of their age or where they come from.

Damn, maybe I should have posted this in .

From the post:

>I was born and raised in Syracuse, New York, part of the Rust Belt, an industrial area of the United States that suffered from major economic decline in the late 20th century. I vividly remember a vibrant childhood in the late 1990s and early 2000s. I spent Saturday afternoons with my neighbor’s mother, as my parents took overtime shifts to meet demand at a factory that they worked at.

I couldn't get through that story. Are we supposed to feel bad this dude moved for a better job? What is his problem?
