Well, it would be annoying as fuck to have someone come in maybe order 1 coffee and sit there for 6 hours working every single day. Also, most of these people are probably dicks doing actual meetings and disrupting everyone else.

From the post:

>Some coffee shops across the country are trying to keep remote workers from taking over, nixing WiFi and laptops to dissuade Zoom squatters from setting up shop. Why it matters: Many coffee spots have seen WFH-ers posting up for hours on video calls as they look for a "third space" that isn't their home office — causing overcrowding, affecting sales and detracting from a community feel. The big picture: While many companies are now enforcing return-to-work policies, remote work numbers are still higher now than they were pre-pandemic, per the Census.

I'm convinced that the overwhelming majority of remote "work" is a misnomer.

Some people can do it effectively and others cant. I work remote. When I was in-office 4-5 days per week I could get maybe 2 hours of work done a day since people would come into my office all of the damn time to BS.

Now I can get a week worth of work done in a day or two since I don't have to deal with the forced socialization that in-office creates. It is not for everyone and not everyone can do it (or want to). I honestly never want to go back to in-office. I get so much more done that I run out of work for the week and have time to improve processes or spend time on new automation.

Great work if you can get it, good for you. Until my boss gets me a 20 mile long set of wrenches, I won't qualify. :)
