Fuck these companies. They need to be held accountable for this shit legally. You don't get to keep a "job open" for years with no intent to hire unless "you get a one and a million applicant". I am so fucking sick of this shit that I basically only ever work with recruiters anymore when I look for a job since they are real jobs. No point in applying to positions that 50K+ people have applied to over the years.

Last time I was job searching, I applied to dozens of positions, and Space X was the only one that replied to me that I wasn't hired. All the rest ghosted me. I ended up going thru a recruiter after all.
last time i was searching for a job, i came across the job posted on linkedin, but i went directly to the employer’s website to apply because i didn’t want the stench of linkedin on my application. i got the job.
