I've been mostly remote for years - even before the lock-downs. I would occasionally go into an office for meetings with a client, but that's about it. I have turned down multiple job offers that required either full-time or partial in office work.

Commuting for the type of work I do is just stupid. Its a waste of time, fuel, money, etc..

All because some middle manager moron can justify their job walking around making sure people are at their desk. Not only that, I get so much more work done without people randomly dropping by my office every half an hour to just BS.

When I was mostly full-time in office I could get maybe 3-4 hours of work done per day... On a good day. It probably was closer to 2 hours. Working remotely, I can focus and I easily get 6+ hours of work done every day and probably get 2-3x more work done per week in the same time I would have been in the office.

It's not for everyone but for the poeple that like working remotly and are able to keep themselves on-task its great.

The type of people who goof off at home are the same ones who goof off in the office, often making it harder for productive people to concentrate.
