Carbohydrates FTW!

Bought two Diesel gennys 2010ish. Single phase 3 kW and three phase 6 kW. Those work great with heating oil, which is just differently colored Diesel. Huge storage tanks in the basement. Got a cable ready to hook the big one up to the main distribution box. Probably going to fry some electronic shit but who cares, it's an emergency. :)

OTOH, for like a week long outage, the battery is an elegant solution, as long as you have a keen eye on your power budget.

That sounds like too much gas in storage for me. The Honda will power everything I need for two days straight on one 5-gallon jerry can of gas. I've never seen another generator that comes even close to that.

Having several thousand liters of fuel oil in your basement is normal in Germany. That's why I bought Diesel generators instead of gas powered ones.
