Are you wiring this up to solar or?
Solar is scheduled for next year. For now it's battery backup to keep central heating, freezers and minimal lighting going.
That's the main advantage of natural gas heating: you only need enough electricity to run the fan. I can run my central heat with a little Honda Eu2200i.
Carbohydrates FTW!
Bought two Diesel gennys 2010ish. Single phase 3 kW and three phase 6 kW. Those work great with heating oil, which is just differently colored Diesel. Huge storage tanks in the basement. Got a cable ready to hook the big one up to the main distribution box. Probably going to fry some electronic shit but who cares, it's an emergency. :)
OTOH, for like a week long outage, the battery is an elegant solution, as long as you have a keen eye on your power budget.
Ah so just charging from the grid then? Nice. How much did the setup run you and what's its capacity?
About 12k Euros for the 14 kWh BYD battery, Fronius Symo Gen24 Plus inverter and Enwitec mains switch-over-box.
Cables, conduits, work hours, etc. not factored in.
