Started with a 6x6 cedar post offcut from a fence install. Drew a vague turtle outline. Used a handsaw to cut out the bulk waste. Pulled out the ol arbortech mini grinder and oh man... That thing is a bit much for soft wood. Significant tear out. Carry on cause there's a fair bit more to come off. Close enough, switch the cutting blade to a sanding pad. Still gotta do some hand sanding because angles.

It was extra fun cause he was playing outside when I was doing my saw cuts. I had roughed out the head, domed the shell front to back and was about to cut the last corner of the shell when he comes over, looks at it, eyes light up. "Is that turtle? Is that mine turtle?!" Boy ruined his own surprise.

It is a bit big for him to handle, but he was dragging it around all night.

You're going to regret buying that jeep.

It's the wife's. Aside from the rogue rubber duckie, and other idiots in jeeps waving at me, sticky calipers wearing the brake pads out, and leaky roof it's not too bad so far.
