Here's a few boxes I made for the kids and grandkids. I try to make small things for them to cherish after I'm gone. I used a combination of a bandsaw and scroll saw to roughly cut out the boxes and the figures on top. Then I used files and chisels to shape them before hand sanding each piece up to a 220 grit .Everything is done by hand. Each piece has imperfections. No two are alike. Then I mixed up some paint and glue. Carefully painted the insides before throwing some flocking in there. You get better color penetration when you add some acrylic paint into the glue....or rather a touch of glue to the paint. Else the flocking can be seen through. All in all I like them and am going to be making more.

I ran out of magnets so only have half finished.

Looking good. Was the change in grain direction for Jack's lower jaw planned or the result of a happy accident? I would not have had the forethought to have planned that, but I could see myself giving it a shot after realizing I messed up.

I pay attention to wood grain direction. Sometimes I'll take my pattern and change all different directions to see what it would look like before tracing the pattern unto the wood.

Holy cow, dude. These are great. Please tell me you sell these as a side hustle, too. Even better if this is how you earn a living!

Thank you, much appreciation!

I just picked up this band saw at an estate sale. I've wanted one for a while but wasn't sure I wanted to invest much money into one. This one can only go up to 3 inches. I now have my eye on one that is much bigger than the little table top Craftsman I picked up. I don't do this for a living. It's more my hobby. I absolutely love working with my hands. Especially with wood. You'd be surprised how many people I've had tell me I need to start producing a lot of these and selling them at craft shows and fairs. I have many more design ideas in mind. These were the first of many to come. I think I could build these with hidden compartments with hidden magnetic locks.

I wouldn't be even a little surprised. They look great and people would love them.

After my dad retired he really got into woodworking and crafts. He was always into it but once he had the time, it took over. Every other Saturday he'd be at the local fair selling the stuff he made. I'm really glad that one of my brothers has his tools and is keeping the tradition going.

It's humbling getting all the positive reviews.
