I took side profile pics of my daughter and her fiance and traced them into a piece of mahogany. Them I cut them out on a bandsaw. The base is oak. I glued them together with dowels. Just finished staining it. Next will be a couple coats of poly. I've already ordered an engraved tag to attach with their names and wedding date. I sure hope they like it.

> Nice work! It's going to be an heirloom piece.

Thank you! That's exactly what I was going for.

I'd considered mixing up some epoxy and pouring it into the heart shape and creating a stained glass effect but opted to keep it simple.

Yeah, keep it simple. Epoxy will not age well anyway so best to leave it out.
