I'm planning to make a drying rack/shelf for my other hobby. It's going to be very simple as it is going to mostly have plastic models siting on it, nothing of any significant weight. I plan to have a handle at the top of it to make it easier to relocate when needed. The supports will be 1x, the shelves will be 1/8th or quarter plywood sheets (3 shelves) and slide into dados. The only end dimension I have sorted is the width and that's 10 inches.
I'm not sure about the handle and handle support. I imagine glue would be more than enough, but I think a peg in the middle would be better. Or is that overkill? From the leg to the handle it is going to be 1/2x or quarter sheet plywood (from the shelf left over) to a block that has the handle.
I don't have a lot of tools, because I don't have a lot of space to store them properly. I'm probably going to use birch plywood, and pine/poplar. Depends on what they have in stock and straight. (Red oak is a possibility as its been straightest in the past.)
I have a desk organizer planned...but that's 4 or 5 projects away. It's probably going to go poorly from the lack of tool selection and experience. We'll see though.
