I read that Tung oil was a good finisher, but I'm looking for a good finish if not that one, and the best process to treat said wood. This is African Ipe, if that matters.

And no, I'm not done sanding.

Edit: I want to put a design on this too, I was thinking I would use the woodburner.

Add solvent per recommendation from instructions, overnight in a ziplock is fine. Wipe dry, twice a day for a couple days after. Llet it sit somewhere warm for a month, people do this process to stabilize wooden block planes and they become much better at fine shaving. Just be patient.
