This project is a small set of bookshelves. The bookshelves will go under the never used breakfast nook of our kitchen island and be used to store cooking and food related books (which are currently in a box on the floor).

It's a bit of a trial run for how I'm planning on making my larger (11' x 8') floor to ceiling bookshelf. If all goes well, it will effectively be flat pack furniature, but with real joinery, no screws or bolts, just held together with mortice and tenon joints and wooden locking pins. So far it's going as well as can be expected. I really need to stop trying to remember measurements though. I fucked up in a couple of places in ways I don't even know how. Nothing that couldn't be fixed though.

Hopefully I get enough time to make some good progress on this in the next few weeks.

P.S.: Posting this has also helped my find my son's missing duplo "transformer" that I thought he'd lost in the garden somewhere :-)

Is that an airplane in the background?

The lego? I think it was an airplane at the time. My son has decided it's a "transformer", and he rebuilds it into various things. He took it outside and forgot where he left it, I didn't find it until I took this picture and noticed it when editing.
