Great article. The author did an excellent job authoring this post and was able to do it with zero hint of religion which turns off the people who would benefit most from this article.
I think a lot of us here who are like minded about this subject innately knew that behavior like that led to the downfall of civilizations. But to see it supported with evidence helps to reinforce the thought.

Completely agree. I’ve always felt there was a correlation, but failed to draw it to a real “why.” My take was that a community focused on their own culture would grow, but an “anything goes” culture had no cohesion and would wither away.
