As I expected. If it costs over $40000 USD to do a battery integrity inspection from a minor collision, to ensure that the probability that this bomb will not leak hydrogen gas is at an acceptable minimum, then of course insurance companies will raise rates to match claims.

No hydrogen in batteries. The battery integrity test is obviously checking to see if the battery might short out internally and catch fire.

Hydrogen fuel cell cars will need their fuel systems cheched after a crash for gas leaks.

Yes, you right that charging lithium does not produce hydrogen gas when charging unlike lead acid. It's more likely they must test each cell for thermal run away potential, especially to ensure the stress from fast chargers.
