I completely agree. They are the tip of the spear. PayPal is a consumer brand that plugs into the same network of banks and payment systems that everyone else uses around the world.
They would all love to steal your money or restrict how you can spend your money as a penalty if you behave in a way they don't like. Next they tie it to a "social credit score" like they've already piloted and launched successfully in China. This is the easiest way to control a population on a micro scale in a fully automated way, by hitting them in their wallet and restricting their finances before the police get involved. It automates 95% of the oppression without human involvement.
We need a parallel economy with its own technology and monetary system/currency to survive. The level of ignorance about how money and financial systems work is a problem. People need to become experts. If you can't pick up a newspaper at the airport or store and understand the business section 100% you are part of the problem.
That all presupposes that newspapers don't lie.
I didn't say you have to believe the business section. I said you need to understand it.
Understand lies?
We need a parallel economy with its own technology and monetary system/currency to survive. The level of ignorance about how money and financial systems work and are being used against us is far more oppressive than most of the bullshit posted on this site. It's the key to enslaving everyone financially.
Or we could go back to the gold standard.
The gold standard isn't the solution everyone thinks it is. Yes, it makes it harder to get away with running the printing presses, but that's about it.
As long as everyone continues to borrow money for houses, cars, and monthly expenses on credit cards they don't pay off, and continues to buy goods and services from corporations, the gold will just end up in the hands of the same people.
The gold standard also does not prevent companies like PayPal from stealing or freezing the electronic representation of gold.
Monetary policy and control/ability to surveil financial systems needs to be taken out of the hands of politicians and private central banks. Gold solves the monetary policy/printing press aspect, but it does not solve censorship and privacy as long as we are using electronic representation of gold for transactions inside of networks that are controlled by the same people.
It would be much simpler to implement, though. No?
