Monty Python was intentionally subversive, promoting opposition to conservative button down British adults as well as sexual degeneracy and deviancy.

That isn’t to say it wasn’t funny. It often was, even when subversive, but that doesn’t excuse its purpose, just like early SNL.

I thought this was a very thoughtful interview and I certainly respect his work. Comedians often push boundaries - Monty Python no more so or less so than George Carlin for example. What he says in the interview regarding how schooling (as well as wokeism) stifles creativity was quite insightful and spot on.
