I carbonate my own water to make seltzer, (Yeah, Soda Stream is owned by jews but I'm working on a refill system to avoid that.) The only 'soda' I buy is tonic water and I only use it mixed with gin, on occasion.

Don’t care who owns soda stream, those things are great! Had them when I was a kid in their first release, and now they’re back they’re perfect for making sparkling water. (I know sparkling water isn’t expensive but if you buy a big bottle it goes all flat and manky too quickly, but you just make a fresh bottle each time with soda stream).

Why do you need carbonation in your water? All it does is making me bloated and disturbing my bowel movements.

It’s just a matter of taste tbh. I know loads of people hate sparkling water (even people who like other fizzy drinks) but I’ve always loved it and find it so refreshing. The Italians make absurdly good sparkling water - San Pelligrino tastes like it was carbonated by the gods!

There was a very interesting thread about refilling Soda Stream bottles to save a ton of money. I'll dig through my post history for it.

The canisters like? Yeah that’d be great, not even for the money, it’s just always hard to find anywhere that does refills where I’m from.
