What about 7 up?
Maybe people just drank them more when I grew up. I haven’t seen 7up in years. I cant remember.
Yeah, I'd probably be a bit surprised if I saw someone drinking a 7 Up too. I might have found it humorous if he'd been sitting with one of those in the picture. There seems to be something more black about Sprite though. I don't know if it's because I've seen black athletes in commercials for it in the past, or what. I couldn't say.
I remember that 7 Up had this little red dot character in their commercials who always wore sunglasses. I want to say the company was bought by Dr. Pepper at some point? I'm sure you can still get it. Hell, I saw someone drinking a Mello Yello the other day. I hadn't seen that in years. My mom used to like that when we were young.
I think it's just a matter of Coke and Pepsi being behemoths, and we just see their products a lot more. That doesn't explain why I think Sprite is funny. I'm sure it's more common than I'm imagining - really, this probably comes from my pop biases. I don't drink pop a lot, but if I do, I'm getting a cola. Fuck these un-cola citrus things.
Mountain Dew was like the bridge between the un-colas and the colas. I can drink one of those now and then. They came out with a watermelon flavor recently that feels like drinking liquid fruit candy. I loved it. It's a pop for grown-up 10 yr olds.
I'd still be less surprised to see someone buy a Sprite than a fucking Sierra Mist.
7up had this mad cackling black man as the spokeman in the 80s so I guess 7up feels blacker to me.
I did go through a shasta phase, its an un-cola with a little citrus in it, grapfruit I think
I am currently drinking diet Dr. Pepper. Switched from Coke a few years ago for political reasons, lol this world.
Soon we’ll have to make our own cola.
If we do, can we bring back the cocaine?
