450g is 15.8oz, almost a pound, a normal baby is born around 7 lbs.
Which means he really did the right thing out of love for his daughter. She's a very lucky one.

This sounds like he's the doctor. It says "delivered", so it sounds like he did this.
Yea that's what was confusing. So this is a child he delivered and stayed with in the hospital? And he kept up with the parents and found out later? Or did the doctor deliver his own wife's kid?
I think the doctor stayed up with the kid.
Usually they put them in machines for that. Maybe this was not in America, land of the milk you dry healthcare.
