The hidden sugars thing is a bit of a split between being an issue and not. I find that in general I don't eat a whole lot of processed or ready-made foods with hidden sugars as we tend to make our own food most of the time. But we also haven't worried too much about eating out or even having some fast food garbage. It seems that cutting out the straight up sugary garbage like cake, cookies and my weakness being ice cream that we were able to get 80% of the benefit with 20% of the effort.
I have been cutting the other carbs down slowly, but having done calorie restricted dieting and fasting before, it's really difficult to get rid of sugar and complex carbs at the same time. I'm sure if I can get all the rest of the hidden sugars out of my diet that I will transform into some sort of deity or something, but I am happy with my results so far and will take the last few steps slowly. I can't always have meat as all my side dishes in this Build Back Better™ food scarcity era. Thanks Fuck You Brandon.
