I'm of German descent. In the family they say we have Cherokee somewhere in the line. However I've done a family tree all the way back to the original indentured servant who came here from Germany at 15 years old. I couldn't find a drop of native blood in the family tree. I have no idea why my family believes we have Cherokee in us. I wonder how many other families believe the same.
It's super common for some dumb reason. Probably because people like the idea of a tamed savage and use some old photograph of a relative with a tan from being outside all day as proof that there is some kind of Indian in the blood.
Most people kept to their own. This is why there are communities of specific groups. German, Irish, Italian, etc. It used to be looked down on to marry outside of your people. Where I grew up there is a yearly festival called German Day. It used to be moistly German descent there. Sad when I visit old friends and see niggers and spics moving in. When I was in school there a nigger family tried to move into the all white town. They were there less than 2 months. First day there one of the niglets was getting shot at with a bb gun and crosses were burned in the front yard. This was in the 90s.
