Only White people have this impulse for self-sacrafice, so obviously he did this to oppress poor POC that were standing around doing nothing.

I wonder if he thought poor kids got brunt when he saw them inside.

It's kinda sus that they didn't even try to save them.

I wouldn't even be surprised if they wanted to get rid of the nigglets and planned to disguise it as an accident, but the White hero had to step in and fuck it up.
