Almost like his entire country loved him and he was under no threat of assassination?

The jews and communists tried to kill him multiple times but it never worked which is why he and a large majority of people believed he had divine providence.

Well that and he did ride around in a open car out in public. I'll eat my hat the next time our president does that.

Most of the high ranking officers did too. When Reinhard Heydrich was assassinated and a bomb blew up beside him he literally chased the assassins firing his pistol while being mortally wounded and collapsed in the street doing soon afterwards.

This happened in the early years of the war and Hitler was so enraged about this cheap shot from surprise on one of his men he had the entire village of Lidice razed to the ground and all inhabitants of the town were shot or burned alive for hiding the two assassins.

Yet, Hitler continued riding around in an open top car. Most leaders would be terrified they could be next but the Fuhrer had no fear and is one of the bravest men of the 20th century.
