I’d seen an interview with Phil ( I’m sure it’s available on jewtube) where he said cemetery gates was actually about a friend who committed suicide and then another friend who copied the suicide and did it too.

I knew a couple people that toured with him. That was their take on him. Said he had his own van and had sex with dudes.
They had no reason to lie and didn’t care that he was gay. They actually really liked Phil and Pantera. They just stated it as a matter of fact.
