For things that I know have already been posted previously, I tend to just add them as being related in a comment on a new post I haven't seen before. Kind of a half-assed 'tag' function to what was posted in a new post, or a "If you like this, you might also like this or find this useful." kind of thing. Might save someone time from needing to use the search function to find similar items, or even get them to start using the search function to find more related posts.
