The pathological altruism. I think that makes many people not able to accept the facts about racial disparities in crime and success. Many assume everyone is just like them and they would never do that so they dont have to worry about it happening, then when they get hit by crime they dont understand the motivations of the criminal and attribute greater humanity to those who may be more savage on the inside.
