There are a ton of things like this. Tons! I work in data for a huge hospital conglomerate. Docs get bonuses for all kinds of stuff. Pharma companies lobby the gov saying that some screening saves lives so now docs need to do that screening which is to promote more drugs.

Docs will also 'fire' you as a patient if they are desperate enough to want that quota and their schedule is full. They will just replace you with someone more compliant. It's all a sick game set up by the pharma companies in collusion with the fed gov.

States do the same with Medicaid money from the fed. There are layers of this both public and private.

The CDC now recommends against this but states and private parties are not bound by a recommendation.

We had one good pediatrician who handed me all 4 of my kids. After she retired they were all evil little trolls who tried to medicate my kids for everything. That was in the 90's.
