Maintainance mode isn't what it says, either.
I just got into v/all/new. Kicked me out when I tried a link, but if you try various pages, some will load.
This is how it's been for the last month or so. It seems to be down, but if you fuck with it long enough, you can get in.
It's not being maintained. putt is either in jail, dead, or back to his normal desk job with the agency.
If Putt not around Atko usually shows up to fix the issues. This time it is different. Looks like someone wants to knock down some sites before the election this time. Free speech in a closed room is not free speech. Think Putt just got tired of dealing with the crap.
I'm well aware of the various modes they go through. This time was a hard denial for about an hour but seems to be back up again now. I'm wondering if the frequency of problems will increase for today. It is, however, obvious that somebody for whatever reasons do not want the site to be stable for the last few months.
I really think it's just been abandoned. Databases need maintainance, load levels managed, etc.
Websites don't just run themselves.
Especially after Putt advertised for hiring more people over a month ago. The lack of information there is getting tiring, but I do note that it's a private site I get to use for free. I really have no right to demand anything and can either use it as is or not.
I wasn't able to get to it via the main link, but I can get in using the random link I have bookmarked.
It's well known Voat has connection issues frequently for months now. Usually it's the 'play pen' and lasts for just a few minutes. This particular instance was a full denial to connect to the site at all and lasted several hours. That's what aroused my interest. It could have been just a coincidence but the very fact all of the recent issues with Voat and a very possible, sustained ddos attack makes those suspicions possible.
