Seems somebody may not want the issue discussed. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. I'm torn between being bored and enraged. There are groups that would like for me to be either.

The whole website, and it's obvious shills, have been acting especially weird since they got their Angel Investor. I wouldn't be surprised if Putt was dead and replaced with a glownigger.

[–] 1 pt

Could be, anything and everything is possible. We'll never know for sure what "truth" is anymore.

Maintainance mode isn't what it says, either.

I just got into v/all/new. Kicked me out when I tried a link, but if you try various pages, some will load.

This is how it's been for the last month or so. It seems to be down, but if you fuck with it long enough, you can get in.

It's not being maintained. putt is either in jail, dead, or back to his normal desk job with the agency.

If Putt not around Atko usually shows up to fix the issues. This time it is different. Looks like someone wants to knock down some sites before the election this time. Free speech in a closed room is not free speech. Think Putt just got tired of dealing with the crap.

I'm well aware of the various modes they go through. This time was a hard denial for about an hour but seems to be back up again now. I'm wondering if the frequency of problems will increase for today. It is, however, obvious that somebody for whatever reasons do not want the site to be stable for the last few months.

I really think it's just been abandoned. Databases need maintainance, load levels managed, etc.

Websites don't just run themselves.

Especially after Putt advertised for hiring more people over a month ago. The lack of information there is getting tiring, but I do note that it's a private site I get to use for free. I really have no right to demand anything and can either use it as is or not.

I wasn't able to get to it via the main link, but I can get in using the random link I have bookmarked.

It's well known Voat has connection issues frequently for months now. Usually it's the 'play pen' and lasts for just a few minutes. This particular instance was a full denial to connect to the site at all and lasted several hours. That's what aroused my interest. It could have been just a coincidence but the very fact all of the recent issues with Voat and a very possible, sustained ddos attack makes those suspicions possible.

[–] 1 pt

Be neither, those seeking to divide want that. There's always a third option when it comes to politics and their games.

I've been tired of both sides since 2006.

Voat, if it isn't obvious by now, is, and has always been, a honeypot. The pot got a little too out of control, so (((they))) shut it down.

[–] 0 pt

That is a possibilty. I watch most of whats going on but don't personally care to get involved online much. And I have no interest in defending or criticizing Voat as a whole, but it seems noticeable when any outlet gets attacked. We are at war and significant changes are taking place in the world. Situations have long existed but technology has added an important component in views and propaganda being dispersed so easily to the world.

...is, and has always been, a honeypot.

I'd be willing to consider that it is now, but I doubt it was at the beginning. I guess I'll never know for sure but that hardly matters. The damned site is down so often it's losing its luster for me.

Voat was getting a little rowdy, and I had eaten a big lunch.

Well I guess the strategy worked because I have no idea what fucking transcript you're referring to.

Edit:

Oh okay nvm.

It is pleasant to note that you, and others here, are staying out of the madness. In my defense, they keep the tv on here in the dayroom and of course the MSM all have their hair on fire. I know it's just the latest in a somewhat interesting series of events and does have importance for the US, although I see the overall significance of the last few years and am glad the status quo has been disrupted.

I'm really more curious what flavor of pudding cups we're getting today ;).

Politics is fictional soap opera, it has little or no importance with regards to what's actually happening. Interesting though how they've been writing more ridiculous plotlines in their desperate efforts to retain viewership. That loss of viewers is what's significant.

I wish I could be that blissfully deliberately ignorant. Instead I feel compelled to partake of it, sustained by the absurdity.

what transcript? edit: nevermind - see it on drudge

When was the last time you saw the canary on voat?

[–] 0 pt

Site is Ded until it loses the private club status. dissent.cx is getting more momentum. Might want to lurk there a bit and see what you think.

Putt is so worried about keeping QRV contained that he's let the rest of the site fester out of control.

He sent his buddies to flood our sub with cartoon porn featuring children and then sent a message to the owner of the sub threatening him to control the flood or relenquishes control over it. Too bad that was nearly impossible because Putt's friends continuously flooded the sub with that shit for days on end.

It's funny how registration was closed very soon after that happened. Did I mention that registration closed within a few days of me pointing out that Putt is friends with the ones flooding QRV as well as Gabara flooding v/aww with random and uninteresting "shit posts" that didn't really have any aim to be cute? It got even weirder when you saw the Frontpage being mostly those posts from v/aww under gabara and only two or three other accounts... meaning he was obviously farming.

But, no big deal. Everyone just forget about this. Voat totally isn't controlled heavily or anything.

Yeah, it's definitely getting weird over there. No information, dev requests aren't answered with a solution, long promised updates/features no longer apparent. /all is 99% politics and very little "common interest' posts. Even when one is posted there seems to always be an unrelated socio-political comment given. Sure there are important events taking place in the US and the world, but there is more to life than rage and hate 24/7. Personally I want entertainment as much as information from a site and I no longer see that there.

Maybe we're a little spoiled on Poal with the almost immediate responses from the admins here, but is it really being spoiled or what one could expect from a site? Didn't Putt say he was hiring staff to help out months ago, what happened to that?

In the end, though, Voat is a free site and it's Putts to do with how he wants. I have no right to demand, or even request, things are done to my satisfaction. I have the choice to visit or not so even though I have criticisms, in the end it's my choice. It's sad because it used to be a great place and I do have to give respect for all the effort he has put into the site. I'm sure it would take a toll on anyone to create and maintain what he has built.

I don't find him or his helpers to be so innocent.

They all got weird after I started to talk about Tencent and this was merely a few months after Reddit was given quite the stimulus by them. That seemed fishy enough and that was before I found out how good of friends Putt is with SBBH.

[–] 0 pt

As I said though, it's a choice to visit there. If you no longer wish to then ragging about them here is like bitching about that ex-girlfriend to your buddies. They aren't going to change and just spreads the discomfort to others. Good luck finding some peace.

Voat is completely fucked. It was my home on the internet for over 2 years, now feds have been Alla over it since 4 months ago and shills have been there even longer. Its completely obvious it's some sort of weird quarantine zone on the internet infested with feds while not allowing new users. I have a feeling something very very weird is going on over there which is why I don't go over there anymore. I'm pretty worried about the future of other sites like poal after what I've seen happen to voat.

[–] 0 pt

I'm not sure if it is or isn't consolation, but it's many more websites than just Voat.
