Ex. It is our instinct to eat fatty/sugary/calorie-dense foods. Those who cannot reject the instinct are obese and dumb. Those who can deny this instinct are intelligent; they treat their bodies right, even if healthy foods don't always taste the best.

Ex. A dog must chase a tennis ball, whether he wants to or not. It is not until the instinct of tiredness overpowers the instinct to fetch the ball that the dogs stops fetching.

The ability to deny instinct is intelligence.

The ability to deny instinct is intelligence.

You should say "some instincts." It isn't like all instincts are bad.

True. Discernment is crucial. Sleep is important.

The instinct to eat Chef Dong's chicken is good.

Yeah, but does it have sugar in it?

Chef Dong make chicken as customer want. Sugar, if want sugar.

Some instincts are ment to be denied and others not. So I would go beyond you last statement and say "the ability do discern and deny which instincts need to be denied is a sign of intelligence and self control"

Another thought though is a dog can be trained to not chase that ball.

Don't deny yourself Chef Dong's chicken!

Huh?...

Most of what you do is instinctual. Just how easy, do you believe, is it to deny instinct?

Think this through a little more.

XD.

Such an assertion is only really preposterous to me.

People seem to have more fun NOT making any sense.

It's why Christianity is high-tech humanity

The true height of intelligence, however, is found in the act of posting to online messageboards.

Fucking intellectual colossi, each and every one of us. So much smarter and prettier and more sophisticated than those unwashed plebes, the ones who aren't posting, the low men; those simple, lesser beasts.

I just hate them so very much.
