Is it something we did? Do you not love us anymore? Don't say it's not us its you. My fragile constitution can only take so much of that in one life.

Is dark humor encouraging rape or murder? These jokes aren't going to make people think doxxing is innocent.

Why are you so adamant about insisting it's just a joke?

Because a more important thing to argue against than jokes is the idea that doxxing can be used for good. I'm not saying whether it can or cannot, but I do think arguing whether doxxing doxxers or bad actors is okay or not is a much more important point.

You're zoomed too far out. A question like this requires considerable context. For instance, the context here is the comparison of behavior of a group that did this and saw a particular result everyone should be uneasy with versus the behavior of a power user at a site that dedicates large portions of its time to speaking about (or venting over) certain paradigms concocted by users they fled from.

You keep repeating "it's just jokes" over and over again. That doesn't shift the veracity of such an assertion one single bit.

I get it, dude - I targeted the wrong person. In the end, I don't think that matters a whole lot now that your position as well as mine is cemented. I don't care about you agreeing with me. Someone got doxxed already. We should all be vigilant now.

It's important to ask about the effect of humor. It's implied in what you brought up, whether you really intended that or not.

Not being serious can actually change that. Joking about hating someone and meaning it are quite different.

Everyone was always concerned about doxxing. Most people think it's completely bad. Some people think it's justified though. Nobody reached that conclusion due to humor. Did you not hear about the stance of doxxing doxxers or bad actors before? I think that would be much more concerning than jokes.

I take it you changing the subject means you aren't satisfied with me admitting I was wrong.

My intention was to unveil hypocrisy. I get that you aren't fond of that. I've defended comedic relief plenty of times before, but I think this is where the line should be drawn. People that can see more have a responsibility to temper certain things, things we can have the foresight to acknowledge can't benefit us.

You've made your point. You see it as a joke. I've made mine - I see it as a mistake that needs to be corrected because I want this place to stick around. I don't think you thinking it's a joke means specifically that you don't share the sentiment, but I don't respect your lack of an ability to see what I see.

Agreeing to disagree isn't beneath me. It shouldn't be beneath you.
