One of my co-workers mom's works for this old lady. The old lady suffered a stroke a few months ago.
She has a "friend" who I am sure convinced her that the lady's daughter was going to put her in a nursing home and convinced the old lady to switch the power of attorney over to her. Now she has stolen $80,000 from her, writes checks to her friends for "labor" for the old lady when she has never seen them before, buys $300 worth of groceries and gives the old lady only like 6 things from it, and a slew of other things.
Elder services is investigating but it pisses me off that shit like this goes down. I looked up the lady on Facebook and she DARES call herself a Christian.
