After Martin Luther King Jr. died, Black riots across the USA forced a political change.
BLM has had tremendous impact without engaging the political process, solely through rioting.
The LA Riots had tremendous impact without engaging the political process, solely through rioting. Interestingly, Koreans that killed rioters were not prosecuted to my knowledge.
Rioting is extremely functional in the Middle East. Negative media coverage is met by Muslim riots and now the news has virtually no negative coverage of Muslims. Muslims get a preferencial status in the UK, Sweden, etc. because they riot.
Looking at all these events, it seems like you don't actually have to get enough votes to do what you want, you just have to disrupt the normal operation of a society until the powers that be give into whatever demands the rioters have.
Now you'll probably compare this to France, which has been protesting for something like a year against Macron. This is the difference between a riot and a protest. The people in France aren't destroying infrastructure, burning down buildings, killing people, etc..
