The door sets are different, one opens in and the other opens out. I think on the top of skyscrapers the doors usually open out.
I could:
- Take the extinguisher and march downstairs to the left while blasting the extinguisher in front of me, hopefully just barely keeping the flames down enough until I make it outside.
- Go outside, to the right, and see if there's any stairwells on the outside or buildings I could jump to. I might go outside and call 911, hoping for a helicopter depending on the state of the building and fire.
The doors are indeed set differently. However the door on the left (which opens inwardly, by the set of the hinges, not narative), leads to an electrical riser... not stairs. This leads to a dead end..... yours. You die.
But good use of observation. God wants to have a beer with you when you get to heaven.
