He doesn't necessarily have to stick around to father the child. A woman, on the other hand, has to endure nine months of pregnancy, followed by 15 to 20 years of care, depending on the mother and circumstances. There is a reason that sluts are frowned upon, while studs are looked up to. It is easy for a woman to have nearly unlimited sex with a wide variety of partners.
