Live way out in country, dog is a stray that just showed up. Man I can tell the difference in his barks. Like what he means. Just got the snake bark and killed a copperhead on the porch.

I can even see when he is smelling snakes in the woods, now we all know the biblical but why would a dog have a fear of snakes innately?

Spot on, on all points!

Man, before we got this not entirely useless dog, I did jump to the ready with my gun to clear the house of intruders a number of times just to find it was something stupid every time, thankfully. Her vigilance is appreciated in that application, at least... and she is a pretty sweet good natured beast; she's just SO DAMNED USELESS otherwise! The ladies went for a walk yesterday, as an example, so I put her leash on her to go catch up with them. Not even a block away she just sat down and REFUSED to go any further! I guess it's not her fault that she's not getting trained properly, but that just pisses me off because proper training seems important to me.

I might actually just go take the boat out by myself as I've been threatening to do tomorrow; my psyche probably needs it. I have noticed that I almost keep starting to take things seriously lately.

Hope you're out on a boat in a peaceful lake and the fish are biting just enough to keep the good feels flowing.
