You need to move out to the country, I couldnt imagine that life.
A city of 20K is not the country, hell even a small town would have a walmart and restaurants and bars within 10 or 20 miles. Low traffic, quieter as in not a lot of welfare women walking down the street yelling "what about your fucking kids, you just gonna walk away" and other shit, that far north homeless find it's better to have a job and live inside instead of trying to make it at 10 below where your teeth hurt if you breath through your mouth. Hell prices are lower on some stuff including rent, most towns have at least a 20 mb/sec cable internet, town water that tastes good, air smells good less cars and no garbage on the streets and in the yards since the people care what their neighbors think. No hard drugs hardly at all compared to central and southern NH. The views of the mountains is awesome and the police are friendly and not trigger happy though a cop gets shot the person better find a good hiding spot because they will be caught and me and all the citizens will call the police to get the trash off the streets. Most people drive past the police doing a few over the limit and they don't even look, I don't believe besides uninspection or to fast in a construction zone that I've seen a person pulled over in the years I've lived here. The small stores even have reasonable prices and decent food even hot food prepared there. I love this area. The white mountains are a more expensive area but it's a tourist attraction and has a few upscale ski areas that my brother used to drive 80 miles leaving at 4am to go snowboarding. I you have a good skill you can likely make some good money and you can even get work by word of mouth like painting someones rooms inside or exterior work. Hell cash is cash and a little under the table cash adds up after a while. Hell if you have car knowledge like a mechanic or a tire changer you can get some good hours and decent pay. I would do tire changer but I've reached the age where I get to sore to do that 10 hrs a day like back in the 80's.
Live 12 miles from a town of 4000, a walmart you would laugh at if you went in it. It wont expand cause it would put the only grocery out of business, really. They made that decision. You should try getting out of town.
I get out of town all the time and I go to the next town to shop and to the walmart 10 miles away and to buy my tobacco at and italian mom and pop store because it's cheaper than the dollar store in town. I have to go monthly to the VA and travel 80 miles then at 70 on the cruise control window cracked for smoking and music so loud my ears are ringing when I get out of the car. I love my small town of less than a 1000 with maybe 10 cars a minute passing you if your standing on the main road. It's so calm but I don't like to pay to be entertained when I have a PC, netflix, a couple acres in the back yard, the cats, and just visiting my neighbor with the legal weed which is so good, or hanging in Jose's garage across the street and just shooting the shit and watch him work on his car, he is incredible mechanic, bodyman, and painter on that car.
