We can't assume every fed posting anonymously online is as stupid as this one.

Plus, there are examples of people being harassed by the feds for their posts online (wish I could link that one video but I'd have to do a little digging) and apparently into WN terrorist activity that usually end with people being charged with things other than terrorism charges.

So the (fairly plausible) fear is feds are baiting people into talking about violence, targeting them on anti-terrorism grounds, and then charging them with something that will actually stick in court.

This incident is merely proof that, yes, feds are on imageboards.

Quite a bit more is needed to take this theory out of the realm of conjecture... but at the very least it's not total conjecture. The need for caution is somewhat warranted.

The feds have a history of baiting, enabling & creating 'terrorist' before the internet. Why should we believe anything is different now?

Oswald, Timothy Mcvey, the1993 WTC bombing. These ones are front in my mind.
