Read ringworld but this is a new title for me. I think you assume where I got my information from. The same people that believe the earth is still 6000 years old believed it was a snowglobe on the back of a gigantic turtle. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Turtle I also just say a graphic from discworld which is from what I saw based on this myth totally.
