If you truely accept jesus christ as your lord and savior then yes you can be saved.
Your soul is not yours to sell. You cant give your soul up. Jesus died for your sins. Read the gospels KJV.
Repent for your wrongdoing. Repent for blaspheming God. It is forgiveable. Blaspheming the Holy Ghost, is not, however.
Matthew 12:31-32 King James Version (KJV)
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
God bless you in Jesus Christ. Its never too late, I spent most of my life in wretched sin and in darkness. Jesus Christ is the truth and he healed me (and countless others).
What does that passage mean? Isn’t the Holy Ghost just an aspect of God? Is God not the most high? Then why would it be more unforgivable to trespass against the Holy Ghost?
How do I know if I have done this unforgivable sin??
All things shall be revealed. I dont stress about the details. Im not sure exactly what it means either but its the only thing that isnt forgiveable. I have ideas... but Jesus didnt always come out and explicitly say everything. He spoke in parables.
What’s your most compelling video on your YouTube?
He spoke in parables.
In other words, he wasn't sure he was right, so he could say "I didn't mean that, I meant this other thing". Kind of like how people say the world will end on this or that date always have some excuse when the world continues as always.
(Lutheran perspective here, particularly LCMS perspective, but we just call it Christian...)
Christ already did all the work necessary to effect your salvation, as well as the salvation of all who had died previous to his own innocent suffering, as well as the salvation of all who shall be born until His second coming. The Holy Spirit works to many ends, a major one of which is to bring you and all created beings to Faith. For it is by Grace Alone, Faith Alone, and Word Alone that we are saved. We do nothing to "earn" it. We can, by our actions, reject Christ - which it sounds like you may have done. That being said, marks of the truly saved is one who makes all human effort to avoid sin, impossible though the task may be, is steadfast in attendance to Church, allowing mutual accountability and encouragement while hearing the Word and receiving Communion as He commands us (as a reminder of his sacrifice). The Holy Spirit works in the saved; good works proceed from this.
Hell is a state of full separation from God. That's really as much as it can be described; inversely, fallible imperfect (Adam) humans lack the ability to be fully present/with God ever since sin entered the world by our (Adam & Eve's) actions. Thus the whole reason why a Perfect Being had to live a Perfect Life - only God himself, as Jesus, could do this, and having been punished by death, saved all. God's "plan" is just his effecting a reunion of Us with Him.
We believers aren't the judges. We have a good idea, but we can never know, not on this fallen world, who is and is not headed to Heaven.
In the Early Church, there wasn't a complete Bible to read, but congregations (often persecuted and in hiding) would know each other to be of the same Faith by a creed of beliefs that came to be recited as explained here: http://bookofconcord.org/smallcatechism.php#creed
If you confess belief, in your heart, of those concepts, and fully understand their weight and basis in scripture (this can take time!), that is the Faith Alone part.
Thanks for this.
I have a qualm, however.
I want to know when Jesus said we need to attend a building every Sunday to listen to a man interpret the word of god for me. If Jesus never said to do this, I will not be able to accept that it is important even the littlest bit.
All we know is that Paul's letters to the new "churches" - really just gatherings of Christians - in Greece and Macedonia repeatedly emphasize the new faith in Christ's miraculous defeat of death be practiced in groups of bretheren. Paul encourages them to keep one another faithful. Nothing about buildings, however convenient. Lutherans don't want pastors to "interpret" anything for us; we read and study the Bible and ask hard questions of this man who was called by our congregation (we have a constitution and vote). He exists to lead a divine service and administer Communion as a servant of Christ.
What do you think of videos?
Despite it being one his least popular posts, I agree with his post about churches being evil. Obviously I’m not a traditional Christian to say such a thing, but that’s ok. All my life churches resonated negatively with me. I see evil depictions all over them. Often Mary is depicted as greater than or more important than Jesus. Sometimes there will be statures that look satanic . The priest will often wear a black robe or some other completely unneeded vestment that elevates him above the ‘meek’.
The weekly meeting and gathering of tithes and offerings was started by organized religion, not by Jesus. They're businesses that need income to pay the bills, even though Jesus said to ask not for gold nor filthy lucre.
I don’t like churches man.
I think the faith is buried in false activity. I’ve been saying this for couple a months now that the only thing you should need is the word of Jesus, and the more I read and see alternative info, the more I become sure that this is the narrow path.
The church is within.
The sabbath is saturday
Jesus was made up by satanists. If you want to go to heaven, you can't worship false gods.
Jesus was made up by satanists
Now hold on just a minute. If Jesus was made up, why wasn't Satan made up as well? Inquiring minds wanna know.
If you want to go to heaven
And if you want Santa to bring you your Barbie doll, you'd better stop shitposting.
And
I wasn't going to respond at first, but after reading through your reply's below, decided you may find my two cents helpful.
As a youth, I had many questions that went unanswered and I observed what I considered contradictions between what was taught and the symbolism/traditions we used. For awhile I'd refer to myself as a "lapsed catholic" but even that made me uneasy because deep down I knew I'd never be a "practicing catholic" again. But I also wasn't ready to abandon Jesus.
Even after reading and thinking about what we know about Jesus, the historical perspective in which he taught, its subversion when used as the Roman state religion and its clear adoption of both pre-christ & post-christ pagan beliefs & rituals I still couldn't say out loud "I'm not a Christian".
I had to ask myself, what exactly do I believe? I'm can't be a nihilist because I believe there is something, not nothing. And I can observe in the world around me that, whatever that "something" is, it's beautiful and worthy of praise. But this doesn't answer what that "something" looks like or the words capable of description.
I believe Jesus was a real person. I believe he was an exceptionally bright child from a well-off family, Hebrew family. I believe his intelligence was identified early and was brought to study under leading Hebrew scholars & leaders of the faith. I believe he came to see faults between what was preached and what was practiced by the religions elites. I believe it eventually lead to him leaving that path for the path we understand him to have pursued.
I believe his message, at it's core, was an attempt to explain why we don't need a religious elite or structure to guide us toward God and that being a good and just person is a worthy pursuit in of itself, not as a means to an end. I see similarities between Jesus & Socrates (The Republic) with the words of Socrates being better preserved.
I believe much of the ceremony is unnecessary and even counter to what Jesus argued. I doubt he was an actual deity or a half-deity that performed miracles but for me that doesn't lesson the importance of what I believe he was trying to teach. I believe the book of Paul is probably the best source for what happened.
I know an invading Roman army driven by a religion founded within the middle-east forced my ancestors to adopt a foreign faith. I believe that it's progression through Europe & the Americas effectively made Christianity a pagan religion and that the way some choose to follow necessitate submission to Jews/Israel.
I believe Jesus was a good and righteous mortal and some of what he preached has undoubtedly made the world a better place but I've also come to find comfort in many of the ideas, beliefs and ceremonies of my true European ancestors. So is it fair to call myself a Christian? Probably not, but maybe a christian with a lower case "c" would be a better descriptor.
So what of the soul? I believe there is a growing body of evidence and philosophical thought supporting the idea that there is something about us beyond the biological, that there is something intangible with enormous significance. I believe there are things beyond our senses and this non-biological essence is key to our ability to connect with what we can't see, touch, taste or smell what's plainly in the universe all around us. I believe something happens to this non-biological essence once the body dies and that it's entirely possible that the life we lead now has influence on what happens after death.
I can only guess as to the status of your "soul" but it may be worth asking yourself about the wrongs you've committed and the guilt you carry for past actions and what you can do to relieve the weight it bears upon you. Look at the path you now follow, the actions you carry out on a day to day basis, and ask yourself if those actions align with what you believe to be a path for a good & just life. One that, on your death bed, can be looked back upon with pride.
If you’re not Christian and do not consider yourself a follower of this tradition, I’m not particularly interested in what you feel. But if you consider Jesus the way and the truth, I want to hear from you and know what you think of me on a personal level and what you believe is the status of my soul.
Quit cock-blocking the path to salvation.
I’m not, but I -the author of this post- am in the process rembracing Christianity and this is the topic at hand. I’m just defining the conversation, not blocking. In other words if someone chimes in to tell me Jesus is a Jewish trick or something, fine, just don’t expect me to respond because I’ve been through those questions and am no longer interested in what that perspective offers. I’m comfortable with my conclusions in the realms of the authenticity of Jesus.
Depends on which satanic cult you were in. There is the goat sacrificing, blood drinking one that chants 'hail satan' in a similar fashion to 'praise god' that many shades of Christianity practice. then there is the satirical "if it applies to one, it applies to all" satanists, who filed the paperwork to be a thorn in the side of narrow minded christian groups.
the former i would recommend red wine as a blood substitute and pork is healthier than goat meat, for the latter i would recommend less mountain dew.
As of right now, Jesus is in charge and he is very lax in standards as to who he allows in to heaven. a simple "believe in me as your savior" is the minimum bar that i'm aware of. Anything above that is for personal comfort or only enforced in some local varieties of Christianity. Basically be part of the culture of your church, and participate in things you are comfortable with.
Some hard liners may give you shit, but compared to the chans church hard liners should pale in comparison.
The ritual involved unraveling my soul to be rebuilt, using circumambulation, mantras, chants, blindfolds, and such...
I sorry sometimes that I owe my soul to satan.
just be glad you did not have to bribe the ferryman to cross the river styx to fish your soul out of Tartarus's many rivers before sundown. Thank Zeus mine was not in Cocytus, that ice is stubbornly hard to crack.
Most 'rebuilding' rituals are just confidence boosters. the average recruit into a cult is half broken if not shattered, and needs to feel whole to become productive in their new life. Rituals claim to do that, and broken people are very suggestible. Anything past that is to help finance the cult. Bills pile up for everyone, and those red lights add to the electric bill just like everything else. Those bee's wax candles add up if the display was anything above a dozen or more each service.
Basically, believe what feels right for you. If you find a church that shares some of those beliefs it might be worth attending a service.
As for me, i believe the pit of hell that satan rules over is just one pit of many in Tartarus, and the christains just pretend its the only pit worth mentioning. I like to play loose with religion, and craft my own stories on occasion. Binding greek myth with christ's take over IRL can create some fertile ground for storytelling.
