Made an , like, days after the site was created to have as a backup. Stupid me didn't write the password down anywhere. Whoops! Oh well. Either way, the writing's on the wall, isn't it? Shame, really. However, it's not like we all didn't know this would happen eventually. Had a good four year run; that's almost as long as I stayed on reddit. Not too shabby. The only thing I regret is that the community of free-speechers is continuously being divided further and further, in to smaller and smaller (infighting) pockets of the internet. This is what they want. Gonna stick around on voat for a while, because the sheer volume of content is just that much more, but you'll probably see me around here more often. The day someone over there gets banned for calling the wrong person a nigger or kike is the day that account gets shoad.

Same way the chans got split up as various boards got comped. 4, 8, end, polk, mega, lain, people are spread all over.. also places like digg, slashdot, glp, reddit, wherever people go to discuss (((things))) those discussions get shut down by (((someone))) and the userbase dispersed.

Yup. This is exactly what I'm lamenting. Whoever's the first to build a rock-solid distributed site that is impervious to take-downs or manipulation will go down in fucking history as the savior of the whole goddamned planet Earth. Giant golden statue and everything.

Free thinking is not being stepped on. Assholes that piss of the users and staff are being removed. I would prefer no assholes but they are everywhere.

It's the only reason I'm still going to stick around, over there. Shit's getting heated, but at the end of the day: the free-speech aspect of voat is still intact, and that's really all that matters. The drama is transient and will eventually die down. My problem is with how everything's being handled. Putt would be smart to make votes transparent, just like they are here. It would have been a more sensible solution, IMO, than banning a lot of popular names outright and at the same time that he accidentally banned a bunch of legit users. That's really what got the shitshow cranked up to 11. Add on to that the extreme amount of brigading going on, for that exact reason, and it turns voat in to a not very happy place to be, atm.
