  1. Putt's canary died.
  2. Putt has become a huge faggot since his canary died.
  3. One of Putt's builders just got doxxed and apparently looks like a Kike. (But I missed the pics.)

And recently Putt has been shilling for PIA. Should we be using PIA? Is it compromised? I like it, but can you suggest any good alternatives? (If it doesn't accept crypto, GTFO.)

He claims is non-logging.

Toward your point, of course VPN just moves the point of presence relative to the other end, away from the ISP. Changes not much else. In the wrong hands makes it much easier to do man-in-the-middle than trying to solicit the ISP, or if you were someone who would not be able to solicit the ISP's help. If you use it religiously, like one account, could further help someone understand all of your own locations for all the places you physically connect from, all collected in one place, that even the ISPs each would not have access by themselves.

I think its weird that after being so serious about it, the he said he doesn't check IPs when checking down vote logs, and at same time gave out VPN which should make it easier to look like two different people. Not checking IPs means he has the least visibility into the greatest swath of who is most purposefully being inorganic, and doesn't know who is gaming the system.

For the record I was not banned, and I did not start posting here because of the recent debacle. It did remind me of here, and I went to go look, and decided to try it. I need to minimize the batches of loony toons in my life, so I can focus on other things I have going on, and to do so in a better emotional place.

Edit: Just wanted to be clear that I'm not against VPNs.

VPNs can be extremely useful or even necessary, but its important to understand the tradeoffs. If you don't want your own single ISP, or their down stream providers, to be able to identify or see anything, usually because you can be identified by your ISP account info, then its great. But for independent VPN providers for surfing the web etc... you are still just as susceptible from VPN onward and its downstream providers, from the same reasons. Keep in mind, authorities roll through VPN providers tracking back to ISPs routinely.

I'm an insider in the field. I have to temper my response here because if I sound angry at all, then it will undermine my point. And meanwhile, I'm not angry. But for the person running a VPN to claim that they don't log, makes about as much sense as for a snake to claim that it won't bite you.

Which to be clear is not to say that a snake will bite you, just that it is a bit ridiculous to base any of your decision making around these types of claims.

Feds or others could require you to log things, or confirm others logs or data, and no one break a sweat.

Sometimes its all perfectly reasonable why and maybe for the good, so to speak, others is clearly difficult to tell how it would not be slimy.

I don't think you have to worry about saying it, even if you feel strongly about it. :)

His word is shit at this point. There is enough nefarious things going on there for him to justify anything at this point. Ar least in his mind.

I'd consider using the VPN in this case, a risky move.
